memcached heaven

I’ve been doing a lot of playing with memcached lately.  Wow.  I’ll write some more detailed information about my tests later.   Of course, it doesn’t help much with writes but if you’ve got a ton of relatively static information pulled dynamically from your database, memcached is the way to go.

Hooray for technology.   Hooray for memcached.

Madden ‘08

Tuesday, August 14th, is shaping up to be one of the better days of the year.  Madden ‘08 comes out in addition to a few good albums dropping.  I don’t even know what’s new in the game–and haven’t bothered to look–but I’ll still be hitting up Game Stop first thing in the morning to pick up a copy for the Xbox 360.

I’ll undoubtedly be playing as the Jets online with the handle jigsawjoey.  Feel free to invite me to a game and, in turn, get your ass handed to you.

Some Mad Hope

 Some Mad Hope

Matt Nathanson’s new record Some Mad Hope hits stores–and iTunes–tomorrow.  It’s his first studio recorded album in a few years and just might be the album that puts him on the national spotlight.  I’ve been a diehard fan of his music for the past four years and it’s great to see someone come along so well without selling out.  Check out the songs “Come On Get Higher”, “Car Crash”, and “Bullet Proof Weeks”.  You’ll be hooked.
